What kind of collar do you use on your dog?  If you use choke chains, pinch/prong collars, or shock collars, all of which inflict pain, discomfort and can even injure your dog, you need to watch this excellent video on the subject from Victoria Stillwell.

My personal opinion is if you wouldn't use it on yourself or your child, then don't use it on your dog.
