HELP SAC PETS THIS HOLIDAY--DONATE TO YOUR LOCAL SHELTER

Thankfully, Sacramentans have come out in force to donate hundreds of turkeys and other goods for needy families to feast upon this Thanksgiving. When you think of feasts, please don't forget to also bless the beasts. Many pets are also in dire need this Thanksgiving, and shelters are struggling to meet those needs in these lean times.

I encourage everyone who reads this blog to purchase a bag of dog or cat food (or both) or canned dog and cat food and donate it to one of the shelters in our community. They can really use our support, too, and not just at the holidays. Drop off your donations at any of the following (or an organization of your choosing not listed here):

Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation, 3839 Bradshaw Road
Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary, 6000 Folsom Blvd.
Titanic's Pantry or Loaves and Fishes, www.sacpetfoodbank.org
Sacramento City Animal Care and Services, 2127 Front Street
SSPCA, 6201 Florin Perkins Road

Sacramento's homeless pets and the people who care for them year 'round will be thankful for your generous donation!

P.S. While you're at it, perhaps you'll also consider offering a loving, lifelong home to one of those wonderful dogs or cats and help the reduce the number of homeless pets who will spend this holiday in a shelter.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!
